As Storms Abigail and Barney bore down on the country recently threatening significant disruption, it was probably a bit too late to wonder if your Disaster Recovery Plan would cope with any eventuality they might have thrown at your business. If you know you weren’t ready (or you don’t know if you were ready or not) to cope with disaster, hopefully all you’ve lost over the last few days was a few hours’ shut-eye.
Instead of losing any more sleep imagining the worst, why not put the time to good use and ask yourself these questions:
Whose responsibility is it to back up your data and when was it last done?
Can your business and reputation afford the loss of data between that last backup and your need for it?
How quickly can you be back up and running?
If you have got a DR Plan in place, when was the last time you dusted it off and ran through it with your staff (or your insurers)?
If you’re breaking out in a cold sweat just thinking about the answers to those questions, we know how you feel. Our customers can’t afford for us to suffer any downtime so we’ve spent years running, testing and rejecting different kinds of back-up solutions. We’ve found the perfect answer and we’re confident enough to offer it to our customers because we’re using it ourselves.
So if you weren’t ready for Abigail and Barney, talk to us and we’ll help you get ready for next time.
